SAFEST City in Florida

Congratulations residents!  According to an independent study by Morgan Quitno Press, you are living in the SAFEST city in Florida and the 10th safest city in the COUNTRY.  Realtors take note.  We have an outstanding Police Department under the leadership of Police Chief Duncan Foster.  The City is also very proud to have been one of the two applicants nationally that received a site visit back in October for the Malcolm Baldrige Award Non-profit pilot program. A team of examiners analyzed the City’s processes and how they compare to the seven criteria for best practices. The Baldrige National Quality Program is the highest level of recognition for corporate excellence in the nation and recognizes top performers as nation-wide role models. This was the first year non-profit organizations and governments have been allowed to apply, and although there will be no award made in 2006, the examiners’ feedback will give the City of Coral Springs an objective insight on how it is performing and allow them to make further improvements to its processes.  I’d like to thank all of the City’s employees for their hard work and a job well done.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers and especially, Chairperson, Terry Boccard, for an outstanding job with PNA’s 3rd Annual Festival of the Flutes.  The event at the Marriot Heron Bay raised over $16,000 for SOS Children’s Villages of Florida, the Coral Springs Community Chest and Kiwanis.  Thank you all Key Club members for your volunteer efforts.  Thank you Rich Winterstein for donating your time to take pictures, which you can all see on www.festivaloftheflutes.com or www.pnanetwork.com.
