Tax Reform Without Compromising Services (Neighborhood Voice column)
As of this writing, we have just closed another banner year in our beautiful city. We made it out of tax reform even leaner without compromising services. Due to our safety ratings and strong negotiations, we saved enough money with insurance to bring back each of the crossing guards we could not afford the first two weeks of school.
Each Commissioner and I remain available for meetings with you. Please look at the website for our office hours or to join me for a cup of coffee - www.Coralsprings.org. We will continue to work with the Governor's office for meaningful tax reform in the future.
I am urging all of our residents to please support the businesses in Coral Springs. The more you support our local businesses the less we must utilize citizen tax dollars for the 90 plus services we provide to you. We are more business-friendly than ever before as we have realized the great value so many provide to our community as we have reached build-out.
I hope you are all happy with Phase One of Downtown. We look forward to unveiling more plans to enrich your lives with further redevelopment over the coming year.
Lastly, I am personally recruiting mentors for at-risk youth in our community. If you are interested, please email me at Sbrook@coralpsrings.org. It is a pleasure to serve you!
