The Passing of the Storm

I am writing this on the morning after Tropical Storm Fay passed us. I am grateful. Please do not take this hurricane season for granted, however. The potential of hurricanes impacting our community remains great. There is no time better than now to be prepared.

On Saturday, September 13, the City, along with our tremendous Multi-Cultural Committee, is once again hosting the International Dinner Dance. This special event celebrates the diversity of cultures from around the world with a medley of international customs, food and dance. This year's event features a Caribbean theme. The cost is only $50 per person. No tickets will be sold at the door. Please call 954-344-1063 to purchase your tickets. I want to give a special thanks to local Dentist and community servant, Dr. Lina Narbone, for being a major sponsor.

This school year I will once again seek to visit each school to talk about the importance of local government and connect with as many young people in our community. Please call my assistant, Catia Silva, at City Hall 954-344-5906 if your school would like to set up a visit.

Lastly, the Customer-Involved Government Committee is about to consider what study circles we want to suggest to the City Commission as a topic of concern. Please email me at Scottbrook@scottjbrookpa.com if you have any suggestions. I hope to see you around!

Mayor Scott J. Brook
