What are you doing on January 29?
What are you doing on January 29? I hope you are voting in the Presidential Primary or at least taking a stance on the Property Tax question. In case you may be tied up or away, you can vote by absentee ballot. Please visit the Supervisor of Elections' website, www.soe.org, to find out how easily you can obtain a ballot and vote!
I have asked my City Commission to consider supporting a legislative priority of allowing Independents to vote in primaries. Over 20% of our registered voters are registered as Independents. The City Manager's office will be doing some research and sharing their findings with us over the next month or so. Please let me know how you feel about this idea by emailing me at SBrook@coralsprings.org.
Through my networking company, PNA, I am hosting a complimentary leadership project for teens beginning this February. If you know of a high school student that would benefit from learning leadership skills to enhance their choice of a career, please view our website, www.pnanetwork.com, for more information.
Have you been to our fantastic museum lately? The Coral Springs Museum of Art is featuring some wonderful events and exhibits this season. Renowned architectural ceramist Peter King will be exhibiting his work at the Museum until March 15. He and his wife, Xania, will also be working in the gallery so that visitors can see their creative work in progress. In March, there will be a variety of dog paintings and photographs on display. For more information, call 954-340-5000.
Our Family Concert Series continues in February with The Fabulons. This band will delight us with a mixture of classic 50s music on Saturday, February 2 at 7 PM at Betti Stradling Park, 10301 Wiles Road. The concert is free, and you're welcome to bring your lawn chairs and coolers. For more information, please call 954-345-2200. Lastly, I will be visiting many schools this semester to educate our children about local government and the importance of voting. If you would like me to visit your child's class, please call my law office at 954-757-5551 and ask for Becki.
Thanks for allowing me to serve as your Mayor!
Sincerely Yours,
Mayor Scott J. Brook
