Mayor Scott J. Brook Recognized by Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies; 2007 Outstanding Father of the Year

Scott J. Brook, Mayor of Coral Springs, Florida was recognized by the Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County as the Outstanding Father of 2007. Sponsored by Vista Healthplans, the award was presented in the Fort Lauderdale Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six at the Healthy Mothers- Healthy Babies Fifteenth Annual Mother's Day Luncheon on May 11, 2007.

In addition to being Mayor, Scott J. Brook is also an Attorney and Founder of the Premier Networking Alliance which combines business networking with community service involvement by doing fund raisers. Brook also instituted the mentoring program in Coral Springs schools and is a mentor himself. He is a father of 5 in a blended family and a tireless advocate for children in our community.

Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide access to prenatal care, education, advocacy and public awareness for all families in Broward County, but most especially for those who are unable to afford private care. Its mission is to reduce infant mortality and improve birth outcomes for women and infants of all walks of life by providing resources and education to pregnant women, parents, and their families.

Aside from commemorating Mother's Day, Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies also celebrated its 20th Anniversary of nurturing mothers, babies, and families in Broward County. During their luncheon, Healthy Mothers-Healthy Babies honor individuals who demonstrate the outstanding qualities of parenthood such as kindness, caring, and generosity, both at home and in the community. The Outstanding Father of the year Award is presented to just one individual of the community, who this year was Mayor Scott J. Brook.
